I interviewed the fabulous Suzan Peltekian a passionate manifestation and mindset coach. She gave me homework to write up my vision. I am going to take you all along on my journey through my homework assignment. Before I do, I want to share some very special and empowering information with you.
Do you know that you can manifest your life? Do you know that I manifested my husband? When Seth and I met 21 years ago, we were both working on our lists. The list that I was focused on was a list about what I was looking for in a partner. I wonder if I can find it to show you the exact list. I will work on that mission. I knew what I didn’t want in a partner, but what did I want:
He is giving.
He is intelligent.
He is funny and makes me laugh.
He is handsome.
He is genuine.
He has a career.
He is ambitious.
He is hardworking.
He is easy to talk to.
He wants children.
He likes animals.
He wants to live in Buffalo, NY.
He is Jewish.
That is a little taste of the list that I was creating in 2004 to manifest Seth. I worked on my list every day. I added stuff to it almost every day. I read it every day and went over it. When I went on my first date with Seth, I went home and went over the entire list. I was blown away that Seth was everything on my list and so much more. I manifested an amazing husband. We all have the power to manifest our dreams. All I ever wanted was a wonderful husband and children. I am living it.
Suzan’s homework that she left me with after our episode was to write my vision for my life so I am going to work on this with you. It’s not going to be my full list. I am however going to begin it and get my momentum going. I want to complete my homework assignment, I want to manifest, and I want to show you how to do this too!
Definition of manifestation from the Cambridge dictionary: “the process of materializing specific desires or goals by channeling focused thoughts, beliefs and actions into reality. Originating from New Thought philosophy, manifestation asserts that positive or negative thoughts attract corresponding experiences or circumstances into one’s life.”

How to even begin?
*Reflect on Your Core Values
Start by identifying what matters most to you. These are your guiding principles, the things that give your life meaning. Ask yourself:
- What values do I want to live by (honesty, family, creativity, health, growth)?
- What brings me joy, peace, and fulfillment?
- What do I want to contribute to the world?
Example: My core values are family, authenticity, health, and personal growth.
*Visualize Your Ideal Life
Take a moment to imagine your perfect life. Think about where you want to be in 5, 10, or even 20 years. Consider these areas:
- Personal Life: Who do you want to be? What type of relationships do you want to cultivate (family, friends, etc.)?
- Career: What kind of work do you want to do? What impact do you want to have in your professional life?
- Health & Wellness: How do you want to feel physically and mentally? What lifestyle habits will you prioritize?
- Finances: What level of financial success and security do you want to achieve?
- Personal Development: What skills, knowledge, and experiences do you want to acquire?
- Contribution: How do you want to give back to your community or the world?
Example: In 10 years, I envision a balanced life with a close-knit family, a thriving career, excellent health, and a meaningful contribution to my community through mentoring and volunteer work.
*Identify Your Strengths and Passions
Think about what you’re naturally good at and what excites you. These are often key components of your life vision because they show you what activities and careers will bring you fulfillment.
- What strengths do you bring to the world (leadership, creativity, problem-solving)?
- What are you passionate about (helping others, creating, teaching, writing)?
Example: I am passionate about my family and helping others succeed. I am also a natural leader and problem solver.
*Set Big-Picture Goals
Based on your reflections, set long-term goals that align with your core values and passions. Don’t worry about the specifics yet – just focus on what you want to achieve in the big picture.
- What is your ultimate goal in each of the areas above?
- What legacy do you want to leave?
Example: My ultimate goal is to create a business that empowers others, support my family in a meaningful way, and be a role model for my children by balancing personal success and family life.
*Write Your Vision Statement
Now that you’ve reflected on your values, ideal life, strengths, and goals, it’s time to write your vision statement. This should be an inspiring, concise summary of your aspirations. Use clear, positive language, and make it present tense, as if you’re already living this life.
Structure for Vision Statement:
- Start with a brief introduction of who you are and what you believe.
- Describe the life you want to create in a few key areas (career, relationships, health, etc.).
- End with a statement of purpose or impact you want to make.
*Example Vision Statement:
I am a confident and loving mother who balances a thriving business and family life. I prioritize my health and well-being, ensuring that I have the energy and clarity to be the best version of myself. My work empowers others to achieve their dreams, and I am deeply connected to my community through service and mentorship. I am financially secure, living a life that reflects my values of authenticity, growth, and love.
*Break It Down into Actionable Steps
To make your vision a reality, break it down into actionable steps. What can you start doing now to get closer to this vision? This will include setting short-term goals, daily habits, and specific tasks you can tackle to make progress.
- What steps will you take in the next 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, and so on?
- What habits do you need to implement to live in alignment with your vision?
Example: In the next 6 months, I will start a blog, begin networking in my industry, and implement a healthier daily routine that includes exercise and meditation.
*Review and Revise Regularly
Your life vision is a living document. Over time, your goals, values, and circumstances may change, so it’s important to review and update your vision regularly. Check in with yourself every few months or once a year to make sure you’re still on track and make adjustments as needed.
By following these steps, you can create a clear, motivating, and actionable life vision that serves as your guide for decision-making and goal setting. It will help you stay focused on what truly matters, so you can lead a life that is both meaningful and fulfilling.
You see that I began a list of my life vision. I am going to continue to add to it and I am going to get more specific. I am physically fit – I can get more specific and say that I workout five times a week.
Suzan Peltekian was one of my favorite episodes. I can’t wait for it to air! Look for it on July 11th. Time to go write down the life that you want and watch it come true. Do this with me! Let’s write it down. Let’s get specific. Let’s review it every day. Let’s record it and listen to us saying it every day. Watch is manifest!
